Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Power Electronics Design Engineer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing power electronic systems and solutions for a wide range of applications. Your expertise will contribute to the development of cutting-edge power electronics products that meet industry standards and customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop power electronic circuits and systems, including converters, inverters, motor drives, and power supplies.
Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to evaluate different topologies, components, and control strategies for power electronics applications.
Perform detailed circuit analysis, calculations, and simulations to ensure optimum performance, efficiency, and reliability.
Select appropriate components and technologies based on project requirements, considering factors such as power ratings, voltage/current levels, thermal management, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, firmware engineers, and PCB designers, to ensure seamless integration of power electronics systems into larger product designs.
Create schematics, layout guidelines, and manufacturing specifications for power electronic circuit boards.
Perform testing and verification of power electronics prototypes, analyzing and interpreting results to validate design performance and compliance with specifications.
Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues during the design and testing phases.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in power electronics design and integration.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in power electronics design, development, and implementation.
Proficiency in power electronics simulation tools, such as PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, or LTspice.
Strong understanding of power semiconductor devices, such as MOSFETs, IGBTs, and diodes, and their characteristics.
Familiarity with control techniques and algorithms used in power electronic systems, such as PWM control and closed-loop feedback.
Knowledge of power conversion topologies, including buck, boost, flyback, and resonant converters.
Experience with PCB design tools, such as Altium Designer or OrCAD.
Understanding of thermal management techniques for power electronic systems.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards, such as IEEE, IEC, and UL, and their impact on power electronics design.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
